This
story begins before Black Jacket and will hopefully fill in some of
the gaps between my fan fiction, “Reflections”, and the canon, Black Jacket. “Branded” will take us
back to Dan’s initiation with the Cowhands, explain why he wrote the letter
to Luke, and give us insight into his meeting with Judge Armen at the end of Black
Jacket. A word of warning: The Mangan/Regan family history trilogy, “Through the Fire” may be completed, but the flames of
